Ultimate EV: The All-New Nissan LEAF
The Nissan LEAF is the ultimate EV from Nissan UK.
TL;DR:
- The All-New Nissan LEAF offers an electric driving range of up to 387 miles with the 75kWh Engage model.
- Named the 2026 Auto Express Car of the Year, the LEAF also ranked first among 161 electric cars on sale in the UK.
- Built at Nissan’s Sunderland plant, the British-made LEAF is available with 52kWh and 75kWh battery options.
- Models qualify for the Government’s £3,750 Electric Car Grant, with the 52kWh Engage priced from £28,849.
Starting out as the first mass-market electric car, the Nissan LEAF created a class of its own back when it first launched in 2011. Zero emission driving was an entirely new concept to drivers across the UK, and EV technology wasn’t as advanced as it is today with the first Nissan LEAF offering an electric driving range of up to 109 miles. Now EVs are more popular than ever before with over 26% of cars registered in the UK, year-to-date, being fully electric (as of September 2026).
It’s no surprise then that the All-New Nissan LEAF remains a leading electric mobility option, most recently named the 2026 Auto Express Car of the Year. Offering an electric only driving range of up to 387 miles for the 75kWh Engage model, the Nissan LEAF is a game changing EV setting a new benchmark for performance. Able to charge three times faster than the previous Nissan LEAF model, the All-New Nissan LEAF can go from 10% to 80% charged in just over 30 minutes making it a powerful choice for eco-conscious drivers.
The Nissan LEAF has also been ranked in first position in Auto Express’ definitive guide to all 161 electric cars on sale in the UK. The official Auto Express ranking provides drivers across the UK access to a complete list of every UK market electric car, with expert road tester ranking each model based on their merits. In their guide for 2026, Auto Express said “The all-new third-generation Nissan LEAF stands head and shoulders above them all in our eyes. In fact, we think this outstanding electric family car – which offers excellent value for money and manages to hit the sweet spot in every area – is the best new car on sale. EV or not.” High praise was also given to the Nissan LEAF’s shift from hatchback to fastback, as well as the user-friendly interior features such as built-in Google tech.
The All-New Nissan LEAF has been designed, engineered, and is now manufactured in Britain. Underlining Britain’s central role in Nissan’s global EV strategy, the All-New Nissan LEAF is manufactured at the Nissan Sunderland plant, highlighting the model’s British heritage. The innovative electric model is eligible for the Government’s £3,750 Electric Car Grant on both the 52kWh and 75kWh model editions, making the Nissan LEAF 52kWh Engage model just £28,849.
